EST 52 - AC Fundamentals– 22257 - Fall 2021

WATCH:  INTRODUCTORY VIDEO

Welcome to the Fall 2021 semester! I'm excited to introduce you to AC (Alternating Current) Fundamentals. In this course you will be learning the basic construction and operation of AC circuits. This semester, like the Spring, is virtual and asynchronous (no set meeting times). We will have 4 Lab meetings on Campus. By the end of the course you will know how to safely construct, power, and test AC circuits.

The basic structure of the course is simple. Each week you will be assigned a variety of learning activities such as:

  • Something to read
  • Something to watch
  • Something to do
  • An exam to assess your learning

This is a 9-week course, so you will be expected to move through the information quickly. Please obtain the text as soon as possible. The book is a good one, and you are expected to read it. In addition, I will provide online resources, webpages and videos, to supplement the assigned readings.

IMPORTANT:  Work through all of the Assignments and materials in the course Modules this will be where you receive assignments and lecture material. Please watch Announcements as updates occur they will be posted here.

In order to support you through the online learning environment and a short-term course, I will make myself available for questions via email in addition to my regular virtual office hours. Please feel free to contact me via my email with any questions. The sooner you contact me, the sooner I'll be able to answer your questions.
