In order to think well in this course, you must understand these 24 key concepts; therefore, you will have a verbal exam to prove your understanding. Use ONLY the definitions in the Glossary of Thinking Tools for Life. Links to an external site. To show proficiency, you must be able to explain the concepts in your own words and be able to give examples of your own creation (not from the textbook or any website); even better are specific examples from your own life.
To prepare for the verbal exam, you will complete three steps:
- Master 3 Concepts due Week 2
You will be assigned 3 concepts to master. During this week, you will explain in depth your 3 concepts and give your own examples.
- Learn the remaining 21 concepts due Week 3
- Certification due Week 3
You will certify your classmates as proficient in Master 3 Concepts, and you will be certified by your classmates in the remaining 21 concepts. Students not certified on all 25 cannot take the Verbal Exam.
