Student App Offline Content

Through the Canvas Student mobile app, the new offline feature allows you to access and review course content information outside of the classroom, fostering a more equitable experience.

Keep in mind that when downloading and syncing course content, you will need to have an internet connection. Once downloaded offline, you will be able to view the course information anytime, anywhere, regardless of service availability. Content downloaded will be available in read-only mode.

Selecting Offline Content

Student app offline content selectionAfter you launch the Student App, on the Dashboard, select the three dots (or Options icon), to manage offline content. You can also select the three dots next to a specific course to manage offline content.

From the course list, you can select individual courses or Select All [1] courses. From the courses, select the drop-down to check or uncheck which content you want to access offline [2]. Once complete, select the Sync button [3]. A confirmation message displays with the approximate storage needed on your device to sync content.

All downloaded data will be stored within and can only be accessed through the Student app.

When offline, only downloaded and synced courses are available for viewing.
