Recording Instructions

 

Practice ASL structure (word/sign order), NMS from the speaker's illocutionary force, etc. to drop ENG form while interpreting the sentences on the audio only prompt (there is no video for these). You may pause your video and restart it when you are ready to interpret the next sentence in the string of 7 sentences on the audio recording.

 

Feedback Instructions

 

Note feedback from in-class practice to incorporate in your video interpretation to make it even better. Practice ASL structure (word/sign order), NMS from the speaker's illocutionary force, etc. to drop ENG form while interpreting the sentences on the audio only prompt (there is no video for these). Darci, Note the sentence prompts in the "END NOTE" below. You can write them out or type them and use them as a reference when you record your video in ASL.

 
Sentence # 1 - Don't forget to bring your art supplies to the next class.
Sentence # 2 - My company's benefits package had a recent upgrade to the dental plan.
Sentence # 3 - I donated my old winter clothes to Goodwill.
Sentence # 4 - The computer store had a great sale on peripherals.
Sentence # 5 - You really should avoid last-minute cramming for tests.
Sentence # 6 - That company has a great reputation for their minority hiring practices.
Sentence # 7 - That soup was so hot, I couldn't even eat it.
