Preparing for the Course
Prerequisites
You do not need any previous experience with accessibility to take this course. Everyone is welcome. If you have never taken an online course before, it is recommended that you review the Canvas User Orientation page, where you will learn how to edit your profile, set your notifications preferences, and much more.
Time Commitment
It is estimated that it will take 2-3 hours per module.
Canvas Help and Support
Before beginning the course, you may want to review the wealth of information that Canvas provides for you to learn how to navigate the system and where to go for help and support. Begin by reviewing the Canvas User Orientation. You can also review the Canvas Guides Links to an external site. for how-to's.
If you have questions about the course, you can post them on the General Course Content Questions forum. The forum is open to everyone, so another student or instructor may respond. This is the preferred method for asking questions, as everyone will benefit from the responses.
Microsoft Office (Word) 2016 available for download (free to all faculty, staff and students)
Visit the SCF Informational Services Office 365 (Links to an external site.) website to learn more and download a version of Word that will work for the accessibility assignment and any other products you may wish to download.
Mac Users: Please know the newest version of Word is available for you to download through Office 365 (Contact IT Help Desk for more information), this version has the accessibility checker built into it.
