>>Project 4: Landscape Download Project 4: Landscape
CAUTION: Ansel Adams may have a beautiful subject, but they are not just about photographs of beautiful places. There is much more to them! Consider previsualization in your photo making practice. “YOU DON’T TAKE A PHOTOGRAPH, YOU MAKE IT. “
And Robert Adams challenges your assumptions about the ease of photographing the everyday... “THE FUN OF SHOOTING SOMEPLACE WHERE COMPOSITION COMES EASY IS YOU’RE WORKING AGAINST YOUR OWN MEMORY OF EVERYONE ELSE’S PHOTOGRAPHS AND OF YOUR OWN,” HE RECALLS OF THE “HEAVEN’S LIGHT” IN COLORADO. “IF LIGHT ISN’T GIVING YOU SHADOWS AND BRIGHT BRILLIANT SURFACES, YOU HAVE TO GET OUT THE CARPENTRY TOOLS.”
GOAL: TO USE LIGHTROOM’S EXPOSURE ADJUSTMENTS WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS.
Requirements:
- I am looking for photographs that show an understanding of basic lighting principles and an understanding of how aperture and shutter speed can control an image. You are expected to be conscious of the lighting and the mood it creates for every image.
- Which techniques that you have learned this semester are the best for conveying your mood and feelings to the viewer?
- Shoot a minimum of 100 different photographs based on the your response to your research and investigation of Ansel Adams and Robert Adams, and the history of landscape photography.
